Have you ever been in a situation where you really want to purchase something, but you can’t at the moment? You have been wanting it for a long time, but once the day comes to finally purchase the item, you don’t feel fully satisfied with it. Have you felt that way before?
There are so many things we look for and want in our lives. We are constantly telling ourselves, “oh, I will be satisfied with my life once I have the next popular item that the world is raving about.” Will we really? It is a constant battle between wishing you had a brand new car, electronics, or makeup, etc.
Society tells you that you must purchase these items in order for “the world” to accept you. Let me tell you right now, the things you own will never define who you are as an individual. According to Jesus, it doesn’t matter what you have.
I know it is so easy to get lost in the midst of this world. You try your best to have the latest fashion trends, hairstyles, jewelry, and accessories. You want the world to like you. Why?
Jesus tells us we shouldn’t give in to what the world offers us. He wants us to give up every little thing we own and follow Him instead.
Remember when you didn’t feel satisfied with having the “next big thing” after you purchased it? Well, it’s because only Jesus can truly satisfy our hearts. He is the one who created us and nothing or no one can ever complete us on Earth except Jesus. We belong to Him.
We need to start following in Jesus footsteps rather than following the world. When you leave everything behind, you will find Him.
I love this quote: “We are all human. We are all broken. We all need Jesus.”
I believe that everyone needs Jesus in their lives and in the entire world. He needs to be put back in everything we do. We need Him.
When you keep Jesus first in your life rather than following what the world says you need to do, your outlook on life will change forever. You will see why He can only satisfy our hearts and how earthly things cannot do that.
He knows you are worn out and you might feel confused about everything happening in the world. He understands what you are going through. Please give all of the items you have been addicted to, to Jesus because all you need is Him.
When you find the time, please listen to “Just Give Me Jesus” by Unspoken.
“Take all my pride, my dreams, my plans. This house I’ve built, on troubled sand. If I gained the world, it would never be. It could never be enough. Just give me Jesus. Just give me Jesus. There is nothing I desire that can’t be found in You. You’re everything that I’ve ever needed.” -Unspoken
If you only have Jesus, you have all you need. If you have anything you are currently struggling with, I want to pray for you. I have a prayer request form page on my blog and I encourage you to fill it out.
Don’t worry, I will be the only one who reads it and it is anonymous. If you feel the need to reach out to me, please do and I will be praying for you. It doesn’t matter if you believe in Jesus or not, I want you to know that He loves you.
