Hi, everyone! I have been wanting to write about this topic for a while now because one of the things I love doing is dressing cute, but yet modest. I believe many girls think that you cannot look cute while being modest since society tells them “modest” means that you must cover your entire body up, which is completely false. I will be showing you how to look modest, while still looking beautiful.
Some girls are clueless about why we shouldn’t reveal everything about ourselves, which that includes our bodies. According to society, they make it seem to like dressing modestly is such a horrible thing, but it is not. Society even praises celebrities who barely wear anything on them, so young teen girls think it is acceptable to dress that way. We need more role models who know the importance of modesty and look representable for girls because they are constantly watching the celebrity they look up to.
The Bible says,”Also that women should adorn themselves in respectable apparel, with modesty and self-control, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly attire, but with what is proper for women who profess Godliness – with good works.” – 1 Timothy 2:9-10
If we put everything out in the open like that, we are actually revealing our dignity and what we stand for. Why would we want to show everything to the world? Like I have said before, I love dressing modestly and it is not because of someone telling me to, I dress like that for myself and only for me. I believe that style fits my personality really well. Believe it or not, the way we dress shows a little glimpse of us to the world and we should make an effort to dress accordingly.
1 Timothy 2:9-10 says, we do not need to purchase expensive clothes and jewelry for our outward appearance. As girls, we tend to get distracted by all of the accessories and different clothing boutiques offer. I understand. We shouldn’t let our appearance define us and I want you to know that you are beautiful in your own way!
In order to be modest while still looking cute, you only need a few plain colored shirts, cardigans, sandals, capris that go down to your ankles, and a few pieces of jewelry to help your outfit look complete! You can also wear dresses that are suitable for your height. It is that simple!
I am thankful my mom is an accessory stylist/ Jewelry lady because she is constantly receiving new jewelry and of course she lets me play dress up with them! Here are a few of my favorite outfits I put together. if you are thinking about altering your style to look modest, these outfits should give you some ideas. By the way, most of my clothes come from Rue 21 and My Sister’s Closet Boutique. They both have cute and modest clothing, but at Rue 21 you may have to search for that style.
I hope you enjoyed reading about how to dress modestly while still looking cute! I am in no way judging the people who show everything and this is just how I love to dress. You are free to be yourself, so wear whatever you feel most comfortable in. God loves you no matter what you wear.
