Have you ever felt like someone was inside of you trying to control you with every chance they could get? Did you hear a voice tell you that you would never be good enough and no one could ever love you because you have too many flaws? Have you heard that voice before? Let me tell you, the voice isn’t God’s; more like Satan’s.
He can sometimes be in disguise and try to trick you into being God’s voice. Here is how you can distinguish between the two:
Worrying About The Future
Satan will attempt to persuade you into thinking that you must worry about each day to come. He tells you, “You will fail at life and won’t become successful. You should start worrying about your future now.” Who has believed this lie? I know I have countless times especially when I know my future is all in God’s hands. There are so many things I worry about every. single. day. I really need to stop. I worry about what will be happening tomorrow instead of focusing more on the present day. I tend to do that a lot. You see, Satan will trick you into thinking you need to worry, but in reality, you have nothing to worry about!
God says, “don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.” -Matthew 6:34
God doesn’t want us to worry about the days to come and we should focus on each day at a time. Trust me, I need to work on doing that too and to just let go, let God. He doesn’t try everything He can do to make us fail; He wants to see us be successful. God won’t laugh and tell us that we should start worrying now like Satan does. God has already planned out our entire life for us, so why should we even worry and believe those sickening lies?
You Will Never Be Good Enough.
I bet that voice has told you this once in your life. Do you believe it? I have been told this numerous times by Satan and he knows my weakness, which it is not a good thing. I have to do everything perfectly and if it is not up to my standard of perfection, then it isn’t good enough. I work harder to make sure things are perfect and this includes school assignments. Why should we be perfect for everyone? What does Satan mean by not being good enough? Again, that is a lie because God thinks otherwise.
God says, “You are precious in My eyes and honored. I love you.” -Isaiah 43:4
In God’s eyes, you are beautiful and there is no flaw in you. He loves you so much even if you really don’t have a close relationship with Him, He still loves you. He loves all of us just the way we are. We should always remember that instead of believing the lies Satan fills our minds with. We are enough.
Please don’t change who you are and I know it is easy to give into those sickening lies. God created you for a reason. Remember, God doesn’t find it amusing when you fail like Satan does. He doesn’t laugh in your face and tells you, “I told you so.” God wants you to learn from your mistakes and when He lets you fail, He is testing you. God wants you to do better than before. Are you going to trust Him when you fall? When you do, He will catch you and pull you back up.

Satan will try to push you far away from God and you need to be strong. You are a fighter! Tell Satan to back off when he tells you those lies and he will flee you. That is another thing God won’t do to you, He will always be there for you no matter what. When you say, “yes” to God, He will be by your side through it all.
I hope this helps someone out there who has a difficult time distinguishing Satan’s voice from God’s. If you’re still reading this, when you hear one of Satan’s lies in your mind; tell him, “Not today, Satan. Not today.” Satan will leave you alone because he realizes you know it is him telling you those things and not God. God loves you and I hope you are having a fabulous week!
To end the week, please listen to “Not Today” by Hillsong United. It is such a beautiful song!
