I have so missed using Bible Verses for the Kylie’s Corners since it seems like the previous one has only been quotes instead of Bible Verses!
I recently just finished reading a book called, Feathers by Jacqueline Woodson and if you haven’t read it before, you should because it’s such a good book! The story is set during segregation and I don’t want to tell y’all the entire story, but there is a part from the book that I want to talk about.
The main character realized that “there is a little bit of Jesus inside of all of us.” When I read that sentence in the book, I realized how true the statement is.
Even if you don’t really know Jesus or talk to Him at all, you have a piece of Him inside of you.
Even if you don’t believe in Him, He’s still a piece of you.
We are all brothers and sisters in Christ because He created each of us.
Our stereotypes also doesn’t define us.
Being smart doesn’t define who you are.
Being kind doesn’t define who you are.
Being Christian doesn’t define who you are.
Being perfect doesn’t define who you are.
Being Holy doesn’t define who you are.
Being popular doesn’t define who you are.
Being Godly doesn’t define who you are.
Being helpful doesn’t define who you are.
Being a people pleaser doesn’t define who you are.
Being shy doesn’t define who you are.
Being a person who goes to parties all the time doesn’t define who you are.
Being a person who is always happy all the time doesn’t define who you are.
The list can go on, but the point is, these words in italics does not define who you are.
Those are just words and it doesn’t say anything about who you really are as a person.
Yes, we all make mistakes and it seems like if we make one mistake in our “stereotype,” we’re considered inhumane. We should be this perfect person, right? Wrong!
We aren’t any of those things I said above and you know why?
We’re all Children of God and that’s who we are.
You’re a Son of the King.
You’re a Daughter of the King.
You’re not smart.
You’re not kind.
You’re not Christian.
You’re not perfect.
You’re not Holy.
You’re not popular.
You’re not Godly.
You’re not helpful.
You’re not a people pleaser.
You’re not shy.
You’re not a person who goes to parties all the time.
You’re not a person who is always happy all the time.
Because… you have a little piece of Jesus in you who calls you by name and not by something that you have to live up to. When you make a mistake, He doesn’t call you names and tells you how you messed up your reputation.
He tells you to come here and that He loves you. He loves you. He’s such a forgiving Father and His love for us will never fail.
He will never leave us.
I also want to say I’m sorry to the people I have hurt through my previous blog posts. The reason why I started the series about how I have been taking care of my health in the first place was because I felt the need to share my story with others. I also do it for the ones who can’t find their voice. I do it for the ones who aren’t taking care of their health right now. I do it for the ones who are too afraid to go to the Doctor because they think about the what ifs. I do it because this has been placed on my heart and I’m not afraid to be honest in my blog posts. I love being honest and sharing about my life on here because I know that there must be someone who is either going through the same thing as me or that I have inspired them to the point it changes their life, thoughts, and who they are as an individual. That’s my why for always being so open on here.
You’re not defined by some words; that’s not who you are at all.
Your identity is in our Father and He will always be here for you when everyone turns against you.
You’re a Child of God, don’t ever forget that.
When you find the time, please listen to “He Knows My Name” by Francesca Battistelli.

Thank you so much for stopping by on the Kylie’s Corner & More blog! If you would like to, you can purchase your personalized, signed copy of Kylie’s Corner and a complimentary bookmark I designed, here! Kylie’s Corner is a devotional for anyone who is in High School and up – you can read more about Kylie’s Corner. I talk about beauty in God’s eyes, society, anxiety, and so much more in the Kylie’s Corner book. If God has someone on your heart that you feel the need to give this inspiring book to, please listen to Him. The individual may need to hear the words God put in my heart at the time when I wrote the Kylie’s Corners that are in this book.
“We all have a little piece of Jesus inside of us.“
