We all need God’s peace right now. I know many of us can relate to Philippians 4:6-7.
God tells us to not worry and that we need to pray about it instead.
There have been so many things I have been worrying about, but I’m now to the point where I’m giving it all to God by placing all of it in His hands because I know He will get me through anything.
Worrying about things and focusing on the negative side doesn’t do anything; all it does is stresses you out even more than before and you do not need the stress!
With knowing that everything is in God’s hands and how He’s leading me out of all of the darkness, I no longer find myself worrying about the small things because I know that whatever comes my way is meant to be for me and even if I have to wait patiently on something I was planning on doing this Summer, I know it’s going to be worth the wait. I have learned that God always has a purpose as to why He is making you wait on something and He will soon reveal why when His perfect timing comes. It’s going to be so worth it. If you’re waiting on something and you just don’t know when or if it will happen, keep on praying about it instead of worrying every single day. We have to keep on being positive and having faith that everything is going to work out in the end. Yes, life can get really messy at times and can also be stressful, but it all comes down to how we view these difficult situations that life throws at us.
In order to do this, we have to have a different out look by staying positive no matter how terrible life gets.
Instead of saying how you have to get certain things done, what if you tell yourself that you get to?
When you do this, it is going to make such a huge difference in how you view the tasks you do in your daily life – you’re basically training your mind how to think positively! When you say that you have to do something like, maybe you have to go to the grocery store and as you tell yourself this, you make it sound like you don’t really want to go because have to feels like it’s more forced. If you say, I get to go to the grocery store, it changes the tone of it to where you realized that there are families out there who are having a difficult time paying for groceries and even in other parts of the world, there are people who barely get to eat.
I hope this helps you to see a difference when you say that you have to do something compared to when you say that you get to do something.
When you say that you get to, you’re seeing whatever it is as one of the blessings that God has given you and it makes it seem as an opportunity you have that other people don’t have in their lives.
I have been teaching my mind to change my have to, to I get to and it truly has made a difference in how I view my life!
“I have to workout.”
I would normally tell myself this because of having Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome. I know that working out helps my body in so many ways and I can always tell a difference in how I feel mentally when I don’t workout compared to when I do workout regularly. I also don’t see working out as some sort of punishment because it has helped every aspect of my life so much!
Now I say, “I get to workout” because I’m aware that some people don’t have the ability to do so like, I have a body that can move. I can walk. I can move my arms and legs. I have ability to move my body freely and I don’t think we realize how blessed we really are if we’re able to walk on our own instead of not having our legs and arms at all.
“I have to study.”
I have been studying for my certification exam that teachers must take in Texas in order to become a certified teacher. Sometimes it’s overwhelming because it is a huge test. Sometimes I get so much anxiety over it, especially with not knowing when I will be able to take it because the testing centers around me haven’t reopened. All of this can be so stressful, but I choose to say…
“I get to study” because I have the opportunity of getting to go to college, obtaining my Bachelor’s Degree in Education soon, and becoming a certified Elementary teacher! I’m a true believer in the saying, “hard work always pays off” because I have witnessed it in my own life when I do achieve something that I work so hard on!
Anyways, have you tried changing your mindset before? Have you tried changing your have to, to I get too? Did it work for you? If you haven’t tried it, I encourage you to change your sentence every time you say that you have to do something!
Remember: everything happens for a reason. God is in control. Take a breath in and exhale out. Everything is going to work out. God will give you peace.

“Days may be darkest
But Your light is greater
You light our way God You light our way
When evil is rising
You’re rising higher
With power to save With power to save
You keep hope alive, You keep hope alive
From the beginning to end Your word never fails
You keep hope alive Because You are alive
Jesus You are alive”
I added a new page to this blog and I encourage all of you to check it out! For those of you who are new here, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) in December of 2019. I have been documenting everything that I have been through and experienced – from discussing my symptoms before I knew what was wrong, all the way to what I am doing now to help my body. My goal is to balance my hormones naturally without taking birth control. I want to give other women with PCOS hope that birth control isn’t the only option. All of the details about My PCOS journey Pinterest board can be found here.
